The LAN/WAN Job category has a labor shortage TODAY that is estimated to continue for at least the next 5 to 10+ years. There are four reasons for this occurrence starting with (1) the expanded definition of LAN/WAN technologies, (2) limited pool of qualified candidates, (3) every industry expanded its LAN/WAN usage and (4) the infrastructure bill that will invest billions into LAN/WAN for next 10 years.

Significant Pay Increases & Signing Bonuses ($5,000 to $30,000+) - The significant labor shortage has increased pay resulting in pay ranges for new members increasing from $60,000 to $120,000 to $90,000 to over $180,000 per year. The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service operations model is the de facto IT operations standard for most government agencies and many large companies. Launch/Build Your Consulting - In addition, we will help you THINK like a consultant and build your consulting skills that are required skills for higher-level roles earning $150,000 to over $500,000 per year. In addition, we will help launch/develop a consulting business to earn a part-time income of $20,000 to $50,000+ while you concurrently work full-time and potentially become a full-time business earning $500,000+.

Origin to 2009: Founder’s Transformational Journey To Launching LAN/WAN Pro

The company founder, Eric Choi, was born poor in South Korea (avg income of $187/Yr) and immigrated to the USA and also grew up in one of the poorest areas of Los Angeles, CA. In addition, Mr. Choi overcame/channeled significant ADHD issues and was identified as highly gifted by the LA School District (LAUSD). Just as important, experienced more by 39 years old than most people experience in multiple lifetimes.

1986 to 1997: Founder’s Journey (Both Work & Life) - Mr. Choi attended college early at 16 years old but decided to leave college to serve his country as a US Marine in 1988. After the Marines (1992), Mr. Choi spent the next 5 years creating 4 businesses while concurrently fast tracking his career in IT. Just as important, he also helped others in their careers while he concurrently started living an amazing life.


  1. US Marine Corps (Real World Training) - Like all marines, Eric completed basic/MOS training including graduating at the top of his class. During this period, Eric learned the real-world training methodology that became the core part of our 5-part training structure for acquiring skills 40+ times faster. Unlike most marines, he bought his first home when only 18 years old and started his wealth building.
  2. Business Failure (Jump Started IT Career) - Upon honorable discharge, Eric sold his house and took his savings/investments to launch his first major business venture. As president, he grew this organization to over 50 employees within 1 year including being on the cover of a major newspaper in May 1993. Unfortunately, the business closed 2 months later due to inadequate funding.
  3. Bypass Entry IT (Fast Track To Consulting) - The experience Eric acquired from “failing” his first business gave him the ability to fast track to a high-level role as an IT consultant handling major corporate, government, and military clients. He also handled management roles for Autobytel (hot internet IPO) and AXA group (world’s largest insurance company), all by the time he was only 27 years old.
  4. Eric’s Brother Ray (First Client & Partner) - As Eric progressed, he also helped his brother Ray jumpstart his IT career starting as a network engineer for a regional consulting company with high profile clients including Warner Bros, Disney, Bank of America, etc that transitioned into a senior engineer role for Activision (Blizzard) leading a team of IT professionals by the time he was only 23 years old.
  5. Business Ventures (Prep For LAN/WAN) - Throughout this period, Eric and Ray never gave up on their entrepreneurial spirit despite false starts including launching Cyber Guild (1st network gaming center in the world) 3 years too early, Global Village (Internet Night Club), and a successful IT consulting company. These experiences became the foundation for the companies that became LAN/WAN Pro.
  6. Going From Rags To Riches (Life Transformation) - On a personal level, Eric grew up in one of the poorest areas of Los Angeles but worked hard throughout his young life to TRANSFORM his life including living in one of the wealthiest communities in America (Newport Beach, CA) by his mid 20’s and getting engaged to his best friend, Melanie, and enjoying an amazing lifestyle including vacations in Europe.

1998 to 2009: Laying The Foundation (For LAN/WAN Pro) - Mr. Choi took his experience and success in IT, including his passion for helping others, to write an IT success book. Mr. Choi launched two successful businesses that helped thousands attain career success. The business success AND loss also coincided with Eric Choi’s personal happiness and painful losses over a period of 12 years as highlighted below.


  1. Great Business Success (Personal Happiness) - Eric and his brother Ray, who was working at Cisco Systems, launched ICTP, a grad-level tech school that helped its students acquire real-world IT skills 8 times faster in 1998. This business grew to over 100 employees in just 3 years and was valued at over $40 million. Eric also married his best friend, Melanie, and became a father to a beautiful son, Adam.
  2. Closing A Great School (Losing Everything) - The IT industry went into the worst recession ever in 2001, which caused thousands of tech companies to close. ICTP needed to downsize quickly to survive but Eric could not let go of any of its staff as he considered them family. This “bad business decision” caused the closure of ICTP in 2003 and the loss of Eric’s marriage and separation from his son, Adam.
  3. “Get Busy Living OR Dying” (Eric Chose To LIVE) - Throughout his life, Eric never gave up, no matter how difficult life was. Unfortunately, by the summer of 2004, the loss was so great that Eric contemplated suicide. Fortunately, he remembered his son Adam, his parents, and his brother’s family. His responsibility and love for them gave him the strength to “Get Busy Living”, a phrase from The Shawshank Redemption.
  4. New Start (Both In Business And In Life) - By 2005, Eric launched Tech Pros Group (TPG), a professional organization focused on helping its clients succeed and benefiting from their success. Around this time, he also found a kindred spirit in TuVan, who was equally passionate about her success and life. Tech Pros Group grew quickly to over 30 staff members and helped thousands of clients.
  5. Cancer (Choosing Personal Over Business) - By 2006, TuVan was informed that she had terminal cancer. Based on hearing this, Eric focused on helping TuVan LIVE LIFE to its fullest in between 3 chemotherapy sessions and 10+ surgeries over 4 years. Her final wish before she passed was a wedding. Eric and Tuvan had a special wedding in August 2009. Tuvan passed exactly 1 month later in bed as Eric lay beside her.
  6. Starting LAN/WAN Pro And Health Issues - By the fall of 2008, Eric closed down TPG and kept a small dedicated team of less than 10 to launch LAN/WAN Professional to take care of a small list of clients while he focused on taking care of TuVan in her final year of life. During this time, Eric was also informed that he had type 2 diabetes due to his extreme lifestyle including high stress and poor eating.

FOUNDER: Life Lessons (Foundation For LAN/WAN Pro) - Mr. Eric Choi spent 20+ years working intensely and living passionately while helping thousands of clients. This includes how career and life success/loss are so intertwined and the importance of a person’s CORE VALUES in the face of adversity. These experiences created the foundation for LAN/WAN Pro, a nationwide membership organization.

2010 to 2020: Develop 3 Services To Help Members Attain Work & Life Success

LAN/WAN Professional, a membership organization, officially started in 2008 but stayed in passive mode until 2012. This is due to our founder focusing on major personal events & addressing emotional/physical health issues (read previous section above). Starting in 2012, Mr. Choi worked on developing the 3 services that help members (1) fast track their career, (2) build their consulting and (3) transform their life.

2010 to 2019: Built 3 Services (NOT Think, Work or Live) - After recovering in 2012, Eric Choi (1) officially helped members fast track their careers and also (2) integrated his consulting methodology into its operations but DID NOT help his Staff or Members Think, Work & Live As Consultant and (3) DID NOT build their wealth to “Work Retired” and only lived a better but not AMAZING life.


  1. Finding A Partner (Refine Service) - Eric knew he needed to be financially frugal while he dedicated himself to developing the life-changing services and needed a partner in life to help with this. Eric was fortunate enough to find a special person in Akemi who helped Eric simplify his personal life. For the first time in Eric’s life, he slowed down and focused on refining instead of growing.
  2. Learn 40+ (Comprehensive Placement) - Since 2012, LAN/WAN Pro has worked closely with its members to create a 5-part system that helps them acquire real-world skills 40+ times faster. As effective as this training was, the skills required for getting the job are different than the skills to do a job. Starting in 2014, a comprehensive placement system was created that improved success to over 80%.
  3. Right Candidate (Most Critical Factor) - By 2016, Eric realized that the RIGHT member is the most CRITICAL factor for success and created a 2-step qualification process that resulted in a stellar success rate of 90%+ for LAN/WAN jobs by 2018. Unfortunately, these “successful” members were living a better life but NOT amazing life or building wealth as they DID NOT Think as Consultants.
  4. Helping Staff Live Well (NOT Think Consultant) - Starting in 2014 after stabilizing the company, Eric sacrificed company/personal success to help his staff (“family he chose”) start living a quality life including buying their first homes. Mr. Choi also “tried” to help its staff WORK as consultants. Unfortunately, they did not THINK or LIVE as Consultants, resulting in “failures” both at Work & Life.
  5. Quality Of Life Benefits (Select Members) - In addition, Mr. Choi unofficially expanded his Quality of Life mentoring to a select group of members both at work, and home including improving their finances, etc. Unfortunately, like staff, they did not learn how to Think, Work or Live as Consultants and were not building their wealth to “Work Retired” even though they were earning 2 up to 5 times more.
  6. Staying Connected To Son (Starting A Family) - Throughout this period, Eric made sure to see his son, Adam, who lives in Europe at least once a year, and stay connected. In addition, Eric and Akemi decided to have a family. Unfortunately, this is not easy when you are over 40. After many years including the painful loss of their first daughter Emma at birth, they had their beautiful baby girl Anna in 2019.

2020: Reset 10 YR Plan (After Coronavirus/Loss Of Mother) - LAN/WAN Pro launched a 10 Yr Plan to become a Global Membership Organization WITHOUT TRANSFORMING the staff/members to Think, Work & Live As Consultants. Unfortunately (or fortunately), a significant set of global, company and personal life events including the loss of his mother caused our founder to RESET his 10 YR plan.


  1. Founder’s Life (New Baby & Losing Mom) - After losing his 1st daughter in 2018, Mr. Choi started 2020 with a beautiful newborn baby girl (born 11/24/2019) and planned on enjoying this special period of his life. Unfortunately, Mr. Choi’s mother (the most important person in his life) was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. After 2 rounds of Chemotherapy, she passed away in October 2020.
  2. COVID-19 (Closing Down & Losing Millions) - On top of the significant life challenges above, the US government announced lockdowns that began with the closure of airports beginning 3/15 due to COVID-19. Since our members previously needed to attend onsite camps, this caused us to CLOSE DOWN for 6 months. Just as bad, we lost millions in revenues like so many other companies worldwide.
  3. Bogus Lawsuit (Pay Extra for Integrity) - In addition, we also received a baseless lawsuit (money grab) and were offered a “settlement” that required us to acknowledge a LIE. Despite everything above, our founder believed our integrity cannot be bought & FOUGHT for 9 months including investing significant financial/time resources, and mental/emotional stress until it was “settled” correctly in Dec 2020.
  4. Investing In Future (Virtualized Services) - With the extra time we had, we invested in the company to virtualize 100% of our services to be available remotely from anywhere in the United States. This eliminated miscellaneous travel and related expenses. Even better, you can receive all of our services with minimal impact on your work and life schedule, especially after you become a successful member.
  5. Launch B2B Membership (Started Consulting Setup) - By the fall of 2020, we relaunched our service as a business to business (B2B) consulting focused membership organization. As part of this switch, we added services to help new members not only launch their consultancy business but also help new members immediately benefit from their newly launched consulting business with tax benefits and spending smart.
  6. Redefine Attributes (Wrong Structure/Messaging) - As part of switching to a B2B organization, we started to REDEFINE the 4 key attributes to attract “Right” future Consultants & Leaders. Unfortunately, the company operations & messaging presented us as training/placement versus a consulting membership organization, making it difficult to attract/approve “right” members.

FOUNDER: Inspired By Mother’s Loss (Restructure To Think, Work & Live) - The LOSS of his mother (winter 2020) along with everything above, INSPIRED an internal TRANSFORMATION in our Founder, Eric Choi, to not only reset the 10 year plan in 2021 but made the PAINFUL decision to use next 10 years to TRANSFORM staff and members to THINK, WORK & LIVE as Consultants BEFORE we expand to global.

2021 to 2025: Transform To THINK, WORK & LIVE (Initial 5 of 10 YR Plan)

As mentioned above, the Founder's mother inspired Eric Choi to TRANSFORM his 10-year plan to focus on RESTRUCTURING the organization to help both our staff and members to THINK, WORK & LIVE as Consultants & Leaders. This starts with using the initial 5 years to create a 4-level membership structure, starting with a (1) Transitional Associate Membership that culminates in the (2) first Permanent PRO Membership.

2021 to 2023: Transform To Consulting (Virtualize, Downsize & Restructure) - As important as the operational infrastructure and services are, we have learned that it is equally important that we document our Consultant structure including our Methodology and Best Practices. Most important, TRANSFORM our messaging to be focused on how to THINK, WORK & LIVE As Consultants & Leaders.


  1. Going 100% Virtual/Remote (Services, Operations & Staff) - LAN/WAN Pro began 2021 having already virtualized onsite camp & “camp projects”. We then focused on fully virtualizing our operations to be able to be done mostly remotely. This allowed most of our staff to work 100% remote with just some AVAILABLE locally if /when needed. This dramatically increased work/life balance for staff.
  2. Simplified/Automated OPS (Improved Productivity By 3+ Times) - Just as important, we also worked on simplifying our operations including automating basic support and mentoring including creating better documentation/videos, best practices and templates that are available to all members 24/7. Per staff productivity increased by 3 to 5 times, allowing us to be able to pay staff more while reducing costs.
  3. Downsize Staff (Must Think & Live To Work As A Consultant) - Based on these improvements, we were able to downsize the company to staff who have both the ABILITY and COMMITMENT to TRANSFORM to Work As Consultants. Unfortunately, we learned that adjusting ingrained non-consultant work habits without learning to Think and Live as a Consultant is NOT possible.
  4. Restructure Messaging (New Modern Website & Updated Videos) - Starting in 2023, we started to restructure messaging to match Think, Work & Live As a Consultant that not only impacts all members but also staff. This started with MODERNIZING our website, including videos from a training/jobs focused site to a website focused on Consultants & Leaders and initial messaging that matches this.
  5. Legally Rename To IKONS (Officially Change After Transformation) - In 2022, we spent many hours determining a name that properly represented who our members are and finalized the future name of our organization to be IKONS. We then legally changed our name to IKONS but kept LAN/WAN Pro as a DBA until we FINISH our TRANSFORMATION sometime in 2027 (see next section).
  6. Design 4 Member Levels (Transitional Associate/Permanent PRO) - We then designed a 4-level membership structure starting with a transitional Associate that allows new members to FULLY experience/benefit from our TRANSFORMATIVE service. Just as important, allow US (IKONS) to VALIDATE that they can Think, Work & Live as Consultants before becoming a permanent PRO member.

2024 to 2025: Select/Develop “CORE Family” (Validate Think, Work & Live) - As important as the operational infrastructure and services are, we have learned that it is equally important that we solidify the Consultant Philosophy, including our Core Values, Methodology and Best Practices. Most important, select and develop a “CORE family” of staff and members who can THINK, WORK & LIVE As Consultants.


  1. Launch PRO Membership (Approve Initial “CORE Family”) - In the Fall of 2023, we reached out to past alumni and conducted a series of virtual conferences introducing our REVAMPED services on how to Think, Work & Live As Consultant and approved an initial group of 15 alumni to BETA TEST our new PRO Membership and qualify to be an initial member of our “CORE Family” we choose.
  2. Solidify Think, Work & Live (Structure & Messaging) - With the help of the initial “Core Family” of members and also staff, we spent all of 2024 doing a second round of operational restructuring and messaging to further match our Think, Work & Live as a Consultant Transformation. This included changing our training labs into “work projects” and using job search to “practice consulting”.
  3. Validate Work/Life Success (Earn $300,000 to $500,000+) - Starting Jan 2024, our founder, Eric Choi, personally mentored 15 alumni through the PRO (Beta) Membership and successfully fast tracked 5 to 9 members (finalized by Aug 2025) to attain stellar Work & Life Success including top 3 members earning over $300,000 to $500,000 per year while they concurrently practiced living an amazing life.
  4. Share Life as Role Model (Ran 3 Marathons In 13 Months) - During this period, Mr. Choi strived to be a role model by investing 110 hrs/week in work/culture and proactive life activities. This included successfully running 3 marathons starting with the Marine Corps (10/23), San Francisco (7/24) & the New York Marathon (11/24) even though Mr. Choi HATES running and could not even run 1 mile in 2022.
  5. Founder Solidify Actual Family (Finalize “CORE Family”) - Throughout this period, Mr. Choi spent 20 to 30 hrs/week on his actual family including wife (Akemi), 5 yr old daughter (Anna) who is Autistic and 22 yr old son who decided to live back/reconnect with his father after living away for 20 years. Just as important, Mr. Choi developed/solidified “family” relationships with both staff and members.
  6. Finish Initial Transformation (Finalize “CORE Family”) - During summer (3rd to 4th QTR of 2025), LAN/WAN will FINISH the initial transformation including selecting/solidifying the “CORE Family” that includes staff and members. In addition, RELAUNCH the 2 step process to attract new Associate Members, finalize the PRO & Advocate Service and launch the BETA Consultant Membership.

FOUNDER: Taking A “Break” (Getting Ready To Be A Global Mentor) - Mr. Choi averaged 110+ hrs/week for 16 months (9/23 to 12/24) including running 3 marathons, revamping the company, mentoring alumni while living a proactive life with his family, and was EXHAUSTED. Mr. Choi decided to SLOW DOWN and hire high level “assistants” to be ready to be a national & eventually a Global Mentor.

2026 to 2030: Rename/Launch IKONS & Grow Nationwide (Next 5 of 10 YR Plan)

LAN/WAN Pro is first and foremost a private membership organization of CONSULTANTS & LEADERS who just happen to be working in the LAN/WAN industry as this is one of the best industries for career growth and business opportunities. With that stated, our services and members can be successful in any high-end job category including other parts of information technology (IT), entertainment and the internet.

2026 to 2027: Solidify/Validate Services (Rename/Develop IKONS) - In preparation for this expansion, LAN/WAN Pro officially changed its corporate name to IKONS Inc back in 2023 and now uses LAN/WAN Pro as a DBA. By 2027, we will officially change our name to IKONS throughout the company including website and online. The following are highlights of our plan to get READY to go GLOBAL.


  1. Right Staff & Members (Attributes & Shared Values) - As you already know, the RIGHT staff and members are the MOST CRITICAL factor to success. IKONS will have a “CORE Family” of staff and members from 2025 who can THINK, WORK & LIVE as Consultants & Leaders who will LEAD/MENTOR new members to ensure that we have the RIGHT membership “family we choose”.
  2. Optimize Operations (Support, Think, Work & Live) - In addition, we will OPTIMIZE operations to be ready for FAST nationwide growth. This includes documenting and automating operations, refining our messaging, including marketing, social media, and websites, and solidifying services/membership as summarized below. Most important, ensure Staff family can Think, Work & Live as Consultants.
  3. Solidify PRO Membership ($210,000 to $360,000+) - We should have officially launched our first permanent PROFESSIONAL Membership that upgrades our members to $210,000 to $360,000+ that we BETA launched back in 2023. From 2026 to 2027, we will solidify and build a core group of permanent PRO Members who can Think, Work & Live as a Consultant and attain Work/Life Success.
  4. Launch/Validate Consultant ($300,000 to $720,000+) - We will BETA Launch our Consultant Membership separated into 2 paths for (1) business consulting, and (2) member mentoring/advocating. Just as important, VALIDATE the Consultant Membership by helping approved members earn $300,000 to $720,000+, and save $10,000+/month while they concurrently live a RIGHT lifestyle.
  5. Change Name/Develop IKONS ($480,000 to $1 Millon) - Finally, we will officially change our name from LAN/WAN Pro to IKONS by 2027 and develop the IKON Membership that allows top members to become an owner/founder of their own “local” chapter (franchise) and earn $480,000 to $1,000,000+, “working retired” in 5 to 10 years while they concurrently live a WEALTHY global lifestyle.
  6. Grow/Solidify “CORE Family” (Most Important) - We will continue building our “CORE family” of Consultants & Leaders over the next 2 years starting with RIGHT staff along with RIGHT members working in every major company/industry. In addition, we will also launch a secure social networking site that allows our staff/members to share, collaborate and help each other attain WORK & LIFE success.

2028 to 2030: Expand Company Nationwide (Services & Industries) - Sometime in 2028, we will launch our IKON virtual chapters nationwide and by 2030 start preparing the infrastructure for global growth. In addition, expand our membership to other high-level industries and add additional services including real estate, banking/investing to pro/social networking, collaboration & even hospitality and travel.


  1. Launch IKON Virtual Chapters (Franchise) - We will have a comprehensive, systematic and fully virtualized “local” chapter Franchise structure that will allow our BEST members to LAUNCH a “Local” chapter to help qualified candidates within their community and benefit from their success. The growth of our franchise is only limited by how many IKON level members we can develop.
  2. Develop Key Partnerships (Vendors & Agencies) - We currently have many informal relationships with key staffing agencies, managed services providers and consulting companies. We will convert these relationships into more formal partnerships and expand those partnerships to include major technology manufacturers, developers and any other organizations that can be a benefit to our members.
  3. Building A NATIONAL Presence (Be A Known Name) - In addition, we will have a social media and marketing team committed to creating a nationwide presence to ensure that we are a known name in the industries we want to be part of. With that stated, we DO NOT want to be an organization that EVERYONE knows but an organization that anyone who should know KNOWS.
  4. Connect/Engage At WORK & LIFE (Nationwide/Globally) - We will have a secure WORK networking and LIVE social media site so that our members can communicate and collaborate including allowing you to find “contractors” OR your next consulting gig AND a social media site that will connect you with “the family you choose” NATIONWIDE (primary focus) and GLOBALLY.
  5. Create CORE Community (“Family We Choose”) - By 2030, we hope to have Consultants & Leaders in virtually every major country working for some of the top countries and government agencies. When this occurs, you will have high-level people as “family” in virtually every major organization globally. What is the value of this? Remember, it is now just what you know but also WHO YOU KNOW.
  6. Develop Alliances Globally (Key Countries) - We understand that for us to have a presence in some countries including South Korea and India to name a few, we will need to develop strategic alliances with key companies within those countries. Based on this recognition, we will start developing partnerships and alliances with any critical organization in preparation for GLOBAL Growth.

FOUNDER: Global Mentor (Think, Work & Live As A Consultant) - Mr. Choi will run 10 marathons/half marathons globally over 5 years while he concurrently work/live 100+ hrs/week. With the help of his team & “CORE Family”, Mr. Choi will also share his life through social media, articles/videos, conferences and strive to be a global mentor on how to THINK, WORK & LIVE as Consultants & Leaders.

NEXT 10 YR Plan – 2031 to 2040 (Become A Global Organization Of Consultants) - Starting in 2031, we will expand globally, starting in key cities/countries including London, England, Seoul, Korea, and expanding to other countries in Europe, Asia, South America and possibly Africa. The goal is to create a GLOBAL Membership Organization of Leaders who THINK, WORK & LIVE as Consultants and share our 4 CORE VALUES to create a better global community.
