Prior to my involvement, I had no true IT experience.
I had graduated from college burnt out and directionless. Grad school
plans had fallen through and I had to find a career I would like.
It seems so obvious in hindsight: I've always felt drawn to
computers. With my CCNA little brother, I had been playing with
computers and my home network (9 computers and peripherals) for years
and troubleshooting my- and my family's computers, though I had
never taken a computer course. I had grown up only a few miles from
Microsoft's main campus, immersed in Microsoft culture in a
Microsoft environment, surrounded by engineer uncles and cousins and
friends.

Prior to enrolling LAN/WAN Engineer program, I was
not completely convinced with the training methods. After graduating
from the program, I could not possibly be any more satisfied with the
quality of the training!
Before graduating from the LAN/WAN Engineer program, I had been
working at a small IT Consulting company, and rarely received the
opportunity to work with enterprise, cutting-edge technology. Now
with my current position (Jr. Network Engineer), I am working with
advanced enterprise technology all the time. I am also making more
than double that of my last job!

Placement/professional training/mentoring - I've
always known that I have the ability to do these kinds of jobs, but I
had no idea how to get myself into the position. The professional
mentoring from Eric, Ray, Patrick, and Kristopher was invaluable in
that it allowed me to present and conduct myself in a professional
manner. Whether on my resume, on an interview, or when negotiating
salary, the tools given to me in this program have been invaluable to
me.
Certifications and technical training - The materials provided to me
for certification exam prep were exactly what I needed in order to
understand the material and pass the exams, but the hands-on labs and
training camp gave me the confidence that I can back up the
certifications in a real live environment.

I recently began work as a Systems Administrator
after I finished my training. The services provided included hands-on
training in Microsoft system engineering and administration. Also,

Manager, acted as a career coach and helped boost my confidence for
job interviews tremendously. The program is a fast-track to upgrading
your career in IT; therefore, it does require that you be committed
to working hard. In other words, if you're willing to put in the
effort, then you'll definitely be able to increase your income

I have just recently returned from the 2 week
camp. I have to say I have learned so much, not only from the camp,
but during stage 1 and 2 of my training. I knew almost nothing about
routers before their training. Now I am very comfortable programming
Cisco routers and switches, its amazing. I have also greatly expanded
my knowledge of Microsoft Sever 2003 and Exchange 2003 to where I
would say I am an expert now. They got me certified, they
stressed many hours of hands on experience needed for the real world.

First of all I want to thank everyone. I enjoyed my training and
the time I spent with the whole group. I have been waiting to hear
back on the online books so that I could start using them. I have yet
to hear back from anyone concerning the usage. I hope you would be

My career prior to the program - My career was actually in a
stale mate. In that, I was missing the drive along with a few
advanced certificates which kept me away from filling the positions I
had done in the past. They brought back the drive and guided me in my
efforts to achieve the needed certificates to obtain the position I
desired.
