Richard A. of Daytona Beach Shores, FL - 04/29/13
About Me - I'm an IT professional with 18 years of experience in Systems and Network Support. Left the IT field for few years to pursue a career in Real Estate. As the Real Estate market crashed I decided to come back to Information Technology and re-launch this career one more time, this time focusing and specializing in Local and Wide Network support including but not limited to network security. I have invested in an advanced home lab that can accommodate CCIE program with the exception of the Catalyst 3560 to make sure I maintain hands-on experience that will resemble real world infrastructure.
Life Inspiration - Books: Think and Growing Rich (Dr. Napoleon Hill)
The Tipping Point ( Malcolm Gladwell).
The Prophet (Gibran Khalil)
People: Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, William Randolph Hearst.
Program Goals - Advance my Career and obtain my CCIE certification in the shortest time possible. Receive appropriate placement assistance that enables me to repay my obligations as soon as possible.
5 Year Plan - Having my own consulting firm and in turn helping other qualified candidates advancing their careers
Minh N. of Modesto, CA - 04/27/13
About Me - My 20+ years of IT experience background focuses on becoming the very best IT Security Administrator that I can become. My past experiences were working in IT Security with EDS and now HP Inc. and Savemart Supermarkets. Both aspects have prepared me well for this career in Networking.
Life Inspiration - My most inspirational moment was when I obtained my Masters in Information Security. My next pending moment will be CCIE certification. It proves that you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to the test.
Program Goals - I want to be working for an excellent company like yours in a job in which I am managing information. I plan to contribute my leadership, interpersonal, and technical skills. My long-range career goal is to be the best information systems technician I can for the company I work for
5 Year Plan - My goals include becoming a certified Cisco networking expert so I can obtain a better working knowledge of Networking and furthering my career. Short-term goal is to attain the Cisco CCNP certification by November 2013 and subsequently CCIE in 2016.
David A. of Las Vegas, NV - 04/26/13
About Me - I have always had a strong desire to know how things work. Always. As a child there was nothing in my house that I didn't take apart and successfully put back together, that's just what I did. The more complex and intricate the item, the better. It's no wonder I became drawn to computers and programming as a young man. I am entrepreneurial by nature and started a PC support company at a young age. I experienced much success and helped many people and business along the way but the demands on my time as a business owner and young father tended to draw my focus away from education and into more pressing matters. Years later I've sold the business for profit, spent all the money and find myself seeking that education I was too busy to acquire years ago.
Life Inspiration - My inspiration comes purely from my family. I am a father of 4 children and I don't just seek to provide a roof over their heads, I'm trying to provide a richer and more well-rounded environment. Dinner table conversation at my house varies from discussion of the Constitution and the Amendments and what they mean, U.S. Presidents, States and Capitols, times tables, the alphabet, as well as German and Spanish vocabulary... The dinner table is great, but I'd like to make it to the next level and be able to afford to do things for my children I know they need to be successful in life.
Program Goals - This question is relatively easy for me: I hope to get to the next level, plain and simple. I have been working in the I.T. field for almost 20 years now, I have been a business owner in the I.T. field and have had much success and I have worked for almost every type of business imaginable. I have pursued Cisco certification before but have lost focus for one reason or another. I am not a stranger to self-study by any means, I have certified in CNE and MCSE previously through self-study, but I feel what you are doing here at LanWanProfessionals is unique. I thrive on the high expectation, high demand environment you create. I appreciated being called by Ronnie and Ashley this week, and I didn't want to disappoint or tell them I hadn't made progress. Furthermore, the pace your program takes DEMANDS focus and I find myself planning for my next quiet study session where I can be left alone to my laptop and concentration required to progress to the next level. I'm all in and I'm ready for the next level.
5 Year Plan - Five years from now I see myself in a challenging, high paid occupation in the I.T. field or possibly branching out and starting my own support business. Running a business comes naturally to me but the first order of business is reaching the next level and learning everything I can about what is required to make it at the next level. Shorter term goals are to seek your help to educate myself and obtain a job that provides me and my family the security we need.
Gerardo P. of HOUSTON, TX - 04/26/13
About Me - I'm an athletic wise young man. I like having fun and making people laugh. I enjoy a good movie with a good plot and sometimes wish I was a celebrity. I like to learn new things and love keeping my mind busy, whether its reading, drawing, working out and just growing as a person in general. I'm an ambitious young man looking to get certified in I.T. and become a successful professional.
Life Inspiration - The most inspirational moment for me was Thanksgiving in November of 2011. It was one week before Basic Training Graduation, "Operation Home-cooking". Trainees were allowed to go home with a one day adoptive family for a thanksgiving meal. I went home with Retired Master Sergeant Gerardo Hernandez, he welcomed me into his really big house with his family. He had everything I would ever want and was an inspiration to me in many ways. He told me "joining the military was a good choice, but use them, don't let them use you. Learn what you have to learn and move up don't let the military hold you back". That day, his words stuck with me.
Program Goals - I hope to get an outline for my path to success. Hopefully I'll get another motivational experience, and more determination to pursue my life dreams.
5 Year Plan - In the next five years I see myself in a successful career, if I still have not yet started my own business. I would have earned a degree in Information Technology, and have a comfortable lifestyle.
Danny F. of Alpharetta, GA - 04/05/13
About Me - I care a lot about people and have a heart towards service. Technology and communication have been influential in my own life and I am driven by the idea that these two vehicles can be used in the help and service of others. The possibilities are endless. I have worked as field technician support for a data company for nearly seven years and it has always been a desire of mind of mine to push further in my acquisition of knowledge in skill in different/more in depth areas of IT.
Life Inspiration - Jesus Christ. May be cliche but its true. This human being has changed the face of his own history as well as world history and his legacy is extremely inspirational in my own life.
Program Goals - I would like to hone my skills, challenge myself, and gain more a deeper knowledge of the infrastructure, maintenance and security of networks.
5 Year Plan - CCIE, and hopefully working for an NGO/ Missions organization like World Vision
